How Credits & Fair Play Work

Famasa runs on a simple idea: good work is currency. This page explains the whole system — how you earn and spend credits, how ratings work, how ranking is decided, and how the community stays fair — for both practitioners and training companies.

What are credits?

Credits are Famasa's built-in reputation currency. They are not money and can't be bought out or cashed in — they're a score that reflects trust earned on real jobs. Every star someone gives you becomes credits, and credits do two things: they let companies post jobs, and they lift everyone's position in the directory (and, soon, on our sister site Skivo). The better your track record, the more credits you hold, and the easier you are to find.

If you're a practitioner

  1. Register free and get 5 starter credits. List your roles (Facilitator, Assessor, Moderator — you can hold all three), fields and experience.
  2. Apply to jobs in one click. Applying is always free — no agency fees, no per-application charge.
  3. Do great work. After a job the company rates you 1–5 stars. Every star = 1 credit, so a 5-star rating puts 5 credits in your account.
  4. Climb the directory. More stars means a higher average and more credits — which pushes you up the rankings, unlocks the Top rated badge, and brings more work to you.

If you're a training company

  1. Register free and get 10 starter credits — enough to post about 5 jobs straight away.
  2. Post a job for 2 credits. Rated practitioners apply directly; you see each applicant's full Famasa profile and rating before you choose.
  3. Rate the practitioners you work with. Fair, honest ratings keep the network's quality high — and you earn credits back when practitioners rate you on professionalism and paying on time.
  4. Top up as you grow. Earn more credits through good ratings, or top up later to keep posting.

Ratings & fair play

Ratings go both ways. After a job, the company rates the practitioner (quality, reliability), and the practitioner rates the company (professionalism, whether payment arrived on time). This two-way accountability is what keeps Famasa honest.

The 2.5-star rule. Any account whose average falls below 2.5 stars — once it has at least 3 ratings — is automatically suspended. Suspended companies can't post jobs and suspended practitioners can't apply, until things are put right. It protects everyone from no-shows and bad payers alike.

Protect your standing: deliver what you promised, communicate, and pay (or invoice) on time. A few great ratings early on build a buffer that one bad day can't undo.

How ranking works

The directory is ordered best-rated first. When two practitioners have the same rating, the one with more credits ranks higher — so consistent, well-rated work keeps you near the top. Suspended accounts always drop to the bottom. The idea is simple: if your first choice is busy, the next best is right below them. This same ranking will power your public recommendation on Skivo.

Accreditation is optional

You don't need to be accredited to join — Famasa is QCTO-era and not tied to any single SETA. Add your QCTO or professional-body details to earn a Verified badge, but it's your ratings and track record on real jobs that move you up the rankings.
