Privacy Policy
Last updated 2026. How Famasa handles your information, in line with South Africa's POPIA.
1. What We Collect
When you register we collect the details you provide: your name, email, role or company, province, fields of expertise, experience, optional accreditation details, and a bio or description. We also store the jobs you post or apply to, and the ratings and comments exchanged between members.
2. How We Use It
We use your information to operate the platform: to show your profile in the public directory, to match practitioners with jobs, to calculate ratings, credits and rankings, and to contact you about your account. We do not sell your personal information.
3. What's Public
Your profile — name, role, province, fields, bio, rating and reviews — is publicly visible, which is the point of a reputation network. Your password is never shown and is stored only as a secure hash. Your email address is not displayed on your public profile.
4. Sharing
When you apply for a job, the posting company can see your profile. Ratings and comments you leave are attributed to your name. We may share information where required by law, or with service providers (such as our hosting provider) strictly to run the service.
5. Cookies
We use a single essential session cookie to keep you signed in and to protect forms against cross-site request forgery. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
6. Security & Retention
Passwords are hashed and connections are served over HTTPS. We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can ask us to correct or delete your data at any time.
7. Your Rights (POPIA)
Under the Protection of Personal Information Act you may access, correct or delete your personal information, or object to its processing. To exercise these rights, email support@famasa.co.za.
8. Contact
